Not too sure about the artifical turf. The chemical smell coming off of that field was something. Collin's in the black helmet. |

Lacrosse Saturday
My son is playing lacrosse on a local league team. Today we had a double header out near Disney World. The trees are blooming here. Yellow pollen coats the cars. Lots of wind and bluster today, grey skies, cool temperatures. Collin's playing defense (D-pole, he says). I found myself thinking about how we support kids and cheer them on. So many on the sidelines make sports a family event: little ones play on blankets, older kids home from college cheer, parents take pictures and shout. Lucky kids.

Sounds like a perfect way to spend the afternoon, despite the pollen and the chemical smell coming off of the field. Thanks for welcoming us into your Central FL world! (It's still cold up here.)
ReplyDeleteYesterday was "cold" for us with the over cast skies and sixty degree temperatures. We are looking forward to visiting some of your cold for our spring break!
DeleteLook at the color of that turf!!! I've always wanted to playLacrosse!!! I know it's artifical turf, but it's so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed at the kids' playing lacrosse. Sticks and the small ball and helmets and pads and running--so many things to pay attention too. They love it. We do have a lot of green here but not quite as green-green as that turf!
DeleteIt sounds like a great time. I have never seen a game of lacrosse though there are a few local teams. I will have to check it out this year once our season starts. It seems like a fun sport. And yes - lucky kids to have so much support.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun and nice to just relax and watch, let go of the to-do list and just be. Thanks, Crystal.
DeleteWhat a great way to spend the day!! My family has always been in awe of and sometimes felt bad for my youngest nephew. The poor kid has been dragged to more sporting events than he will ever have time to actually play in himself! Between two brothers with wrestling, baseball, football, and band, and a sister adding volleyball, fast pitch, basketball and dance - by the time he was old enough to be on any kind of field, chasing any kind of ball of his own, he was nearly a pro! :)
ReplyDeleteI marvel how large families balance everyone's schedule! What a rich family life that is supporting each other.
DeleteI hope I can join you for a lacrosse game sometime. It is a family event, after all. :)
ReplyDeleteIndeed it is, sister! You would have love the puppy sitting next to me too.
DeleteNo doubt! I'm way overdue for a pic of your cute girl.
DeleteI never thought about the chemical smells before. I wonder if that is true of all turf.
