We generally perform skits and poems that are already written, but they do love it.maria.selkehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12052847577940056985noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7204430968023166999.post-39119207736856919692012-04-11T19:38:18.943-04:002012-04-11T19:38:18.943-04:00Thank you, thank you... We used to do a poetry reading/coffee house (middle schoolers) & I got a mike too one year, & everything changed! The students were more than ready to get up there with the mike, their voices ringing loud. I always teach & share tons of poetry & most of my students were enthusiastic, but this was more. I love your story about the students wanting to do "extra", & about Neruda. It has to be one of the memorable moments of your teaching life!Linda Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14983144542632353870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7204430968023166999.post-77077008887334446212012-04-10T22:46:19.596-04:002012-04-10T22:46:19.596-04:00This is wonderful!! You've introduced me to a new poet and reminded me of others. I'm going to have to try this out.

My favorite line in this slice "she threw us high into the rafters and gifted us with laughter only to dash us to the ground and leave us in tears. " How poetic is that????? Fabulous lineDeb Dayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00861392500601183208noreply@blogger.com
